Quality Matters Standard 3.3 states that "Specific and descriptive criteria are provided for the evaluation of students' work and participation and are tied to the course grading policy." The best way to ensure that this standard is met is to construct rubrics that can measure student achievement in a course. Look at the three rubric examples that we have provided below and offer suggestions or criticisms on each one. How might these three rubrics be improved? Are they missing any elements that could be important? Do you think that specifying points or percentages is best? Are they too detailed or not detailed enough? Most importantly, are they measurable?
