First, locate the course management Control Panel. You can find it in the bottom left hand side of your Blackboard screen.
From the Course Management Control Panel, open the Course Tools menu and select Tests, Surveys, and Pools.
After clicking on the Tests, Surveys, and Pools menu link, you will be redirected to a page where you can select either Tests, Surveys, and Pools, select Tests.
This will take you to a menu that will allow you to create or import an existing test. Since we want to build a test, please select Build Test.
You are now on a page that allows you to enter basic content for your test. The first text box you see, is for the Name of your test. When creating a name for a test or quiz, please keep it consistent to the content of your course.
For example, if you are creating a quiz for the material covered in week 5, call it Week 5 Quiz. However, if it is material covering weeks 1-5, name it Week 5 Test if the test is offered in week 5. Also, naming test as Midterm Exam and Final Exam are also acceptable.

Next is the Description text box. This is were you enter a description of the test for student to see. It is good practice to list what chapters or materials the test covers.
Right below the Description text Box is the Instructions text box. This usually describes any steps the student must follow while taking the test. Adding what question the student might incur is a great idea as well.
Lastly, when you are finished, click the submit button. Congratulations, you have successfully made a test.
