8.2 Writing Weekly Assignments List
When students access a weekly folder, they expect to know what they need to accomplish in order to complete the week. Weekly Assignments List exist to provide students with a specific list of activities, assessments, discussions and other materials which must be reviewed and completed to finish a week.
To do this, access the Week 1 folder in your Course Content area through your Course Menu. Locate the Assignments List within the weekly content area.

Left-click on the double arrows next to the Assignments List header and select Edit.
You should see a screen with text tools that look a great deal like Microsoft Word. Additionally, you should see a title line and a large white box (which contains the assignments list you created in Chapter 7).
This item is for your “sequential” learners who need a step-by-step list of what to do for the week. This is a numbered checklist of what a student must accomplish in order to be successful. Every sentence in the assignments list starts with a verb (action word).
You should have your course calendar out when you fill in these blanks (XYZ) according to your course.

Important Tip: Keep in mind when creating your course that each week may be different. This means that there will be times where a week will not contain every item (quiz, discussion, assignment) or may contain another item (case study, etc.). Make sure you update each week according to your course. Do not forget that when making your list that you add the word count for the discussions for your course.

After you fill in the blanks (XYZ), your finished product should look like the image below.
Once you have completed the Assignments List, review the information and make sure it is correct. If everything is correct, click Submit.
