2.4 Inserting 0's in the Grade Center
Inserting a 0's into the Grade Center is very simple! However, you must be careful as this requires a direct manipulation of the Grade Center (aka. the online gradebook) in Blackboard. To begin, locate the Control Panel under the Course Menu. Left-click on Grade Center and select Full Grade Center.
The Full Grade Center page contains all of the grades for all of your currently enrolled students for every activity that exists in your Blackboard course. To insert a 0, locate an activity for one of your students that has missed a due date. You can tell that there is no submission by the double-dash marks in place rather than an exclamation point (representing a submission awaiting grading) or a numerical grade (representing a graded activity).
Locate the activity you wish to grade by looking along the Grade Information Bar. This bar includes the names of the assignments, assessments and other activities that exist within the course, and have an effect on the students' final grade.
Once you have located the activity, follow the column down until the students row intersects. Lect-click on the double-dash marks an a small box will appear. Left-click again and enter the Zero. Press Enter on your keyboard. You should now see a Zero in place for the grade.
With the Zero in place, the grade is automatically calculated into the students overall total. Remember that the gradebook is the core of your course. This is the information you need to preserve and maintain constantly.
