2.1 Grading Assignments
Grading student assignments is a required task for every educator. Instructors must not only provide students their grades, but they must also grade quickly. Grading assignments in Blackboard is an easy process, whether grading with Rubrics or Manually entering grades directly into the grade center.
To start grading your students' assignments, access the Grade Center on the Control Panel, and click Needs Grading.
To start grading your students' assignments, access the Grade Center on the Control Panel, and click Needs Grading.
A list of assignments waiting for grades appears! Yours may be longer than what you see below. Left-click the double-arrows next to an assignment name and click Grade All Users.
From here, an assignment can be graded by either entering a grade Manually or by using a Rubric.
Accessing the rubric is as simple as clicking on the rubric link. A drop down list of all the criteria appears. This only works if a Rubric has been created and associated with an assignment (see Chapter 11).
To grade with a Rubric, click on the scaled criteria sections as demonstrated below. You then click Submit for the Rubric. This automatically applies the points associated in the Rubric to the total score.
After entering a grade for an assignment, either click the > arrow to move on to the next student, or Save and Exit. This applies the grade and takes you back to the Needs Grading page.
