2.2 Grading Assessments (Tests)
Depending on how the assessments (quizzes and tests) are built, grading may not even be necessary. Multiple choice, true/false, multiple answer and other clear-cut question formats are graded automatically, so as soon as students finish the assessment, they see their grades.
However, other question types, such as fill-in-the-blank, short answer, and essay, require instructors to manually grade assessments. To grade a Quiz manually, locate the Control Panel below the Course Menu and select Needs Grading.
However, other question types, such as fill-in-the-blank, short answer, and essay, require instructors to manually grade assessments. To grade a Quiz manually, locate the Control Panel below the Course Menu and select Needs Grading.
Like assignments, you will see a list of activities waiting for your evaluation. Locate the Quiz(zes) that need grading, and click on the double arrows. Click Grade All Users.
Only the questions that require manually grading will appear, so in the case of a diverse Quiz, you will not be bothered by every question--only the ones that require manual grading. Review the question and the answer provided by the student, then left-click on the small white box with a single dash. This box is on the right side next to a statement that reads out of # points. Enter a numerical value based on your evaluation of the students response.
In the case of additional questions that require grading, click on the Save and Next button. If all questions have been graded, click Submit. This inputs the overall quiz grade into the grade book.
